Seppo Ilmarinen (“the smith Ilmarinen”) is the name of a master craftsman in the Finnish epic the ‘Kalevala’, writing about Seppo makes me very sad. He left here as a cute bold puppy to join his first family, but suddenly and for no real reason he was returned, as a young adult and he then joined Paula and Peter. Sadly it became apparent that he had “baggage” which meant his temperament was unpredictable, and whilst Peter and Paula worked hard to help Seppo, the time came when he just could not be trusted especially where children were concerned. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, to give him peace and release him from the gremlins that haunted him.
